Will I read another retelling of my favourite greek myth? Yes, I will, ma'am!

In this sexy, full-color graphic novel romance first released as a webcomic, desire blooms in the goddess of the harvest when she meets the ruler of the underworld.
According to the ancient legend, the Lord of the Dead kidnapped the innocent daughter of Demeter--or did he? The truth is, Persephone is no damsel in distress, but a spirited young lady with an overbearing mother. A failed scheme by Apollo leads Persephone to a chance encounter with the mysterious and handsome Hades, who is struck by love’s arrow. Now Hades must wrestle with his aching heart before he loses total control of his feelings, but desire is raging inside Persepone herself.
This sensual take on Greek mythology, a self-contained graphic novel perfect for romance novel readers and beyond, is recommended for older audiences.
A book from the Seven Seas + Hiveworks label.
General Impressions
If you are a fan of Lore Olympus or Rick Riordan, this is right up your alley. Except for being a bit steamier towards the end...Perse sure is stacked!!!
To be honest, I requested this title simply because my Goodreads Challenge is screaming in agony but I do not regret it at all. The art was lovely and although the story was not the most complex, it was original and I loved how more than about romance, this was a story about consent, something always lacking from greek mythology where violence against women is prevalent in almost every story, and two* lonely people getting to know each other and choosing to build a life together.
The was a pleasant short read all around until I got to the very end because...I sure wasn't expecting that and I LOVED IT!!
I wholeheartedly recommend this: it's short, fun, super feminist and it's about Hades and Persephone. What else is more to do in the world while Netflix doesn't release Lore Olympus?
Thank you to Edelweiss+ and Seven Seas for this DRC.
